Haruka Nagao

Violin Artist, Concertmaster

Haruka Nagao earned her bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees at the Tokyo University of the Arts, also studied at the Graz University of Music and Performing Arts, and completed her viola master's program at the Liszt Music Academy in Budapest.

She won awards at numerous competitions, including first prize in the Japan Music Competition, and prizes in the Long-Thibaud International Music Competition and Sendai International Music Competition.

She won first prize in the Carl Flesch International Violin Competition, including a special prize for her Mozart performance. She has performed with domestic and international orchestras including L'orchestre National de Radio France, Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra and Japan Philharmonic Orchestra.

She performed F. Vacchi's Violin Concerto at Carnegie Hall in New York and is currently the 1st concertmaster of the Hungarian State Opera Orchestra, while also teaching at the Liszt Academy.
